Megan Matthews finds career success and personal growth with JLL
Megan Matthews landed an analyst gig at JLL in Georgia in 1999, supporting leasing and property management. A year in she was told she had to pick one – and the rest is history. Nearly two decades later, Megan’s still in property management but she’s moved around the U.S. tackling new roles and growing the business from the ground up. She prides herself on taking new challenges, noting “because that’s where you succeed and move forward in your life and your career.”
In four short years, she built a property management team in Dallas from 5 million square feet to 40 million square feet, then moved to D.C. and did it all over again in the Mid-Atlantic. For nearly a year, Megan ran both D.C. and Dallas and demonstrated her drive to transform the perception of JLL’s management team in the market.
“I love to find solutions for our clients’ toughest challenges, often by tapping into our global or national platform of resources and team members. Our One JLL mentality – bringing together all services that a client could need – has supported our growth in the Mid-Atlantic,” Megan added.
In her 20 years at JLL, Megan’s colleagues say she’s consistently embodied the firm’s values of teamwork, ethics and excellence for her team and clients. Her other job – being a mom – has taught her to balance work and raising two daughters.

If you ask Megan how she does it, she’ll say her team. “I’ve been at JLL 22 years and it’s because of the people,” she shared. Megan has a passion for people and has “a team of seven strong leaders” that she partners with to run the region.
“Working with the incredible talent on our Mid Atlantic team makes the job easy. Our clients are happy and want us to grow with them,” she added. Together they manage 100+ client relationships and 200+ assets.
“At the end of the day, my secret to success lies within people – be it cultivating long-term client relationships, recognizing my team for a job well-done or spending extra time with my two girls and husband.”
