- With Amazon’s announcement last week that corporate employees would be expected to return to the office five days a week in 2025, large private employers continue to gradually trend towards pre-pandemic office attendance norms—nearly 95% of Fortune 100 employees work at hybrid or fully in-office employers, and the average weekly attendance requirement has increased to 3.3 days.
- Amazon is not the only Fortune 100 employer to increase office requirements in 2024: in the first half of the year, UPS similarly increased their requirement from three to five days, Dell extended a requirement to all teams, Deere increased its requirement from two to four days, and Citigroup and General Motors broadened their policies to apply to more employees.
- A major tracking index reached the highest levels since the onset of the pandemic in July, reaching 72.2% of July 2019 attendance levels.
