Current Responsibilities
For over 30 years, Dave has guided clients through complex turnaround situations. From advising publicly traded companies through bankruptcy to helping stable companies achieve maximum returns on their assets, he brings an extensive background in restructuring and negotiating to each engagement. Dave has restructured more than $3 billion in real estate liabilities. He has assisted numerous borrowers in modifying their corporate and/or real estate debt, enabling them to be released from personal guarantees, payoff loans at a discount, and/or restructure their terms to avoid bankruptcy or foreclosure.
Experience
He was a founding partner of Huntley, Mullaney, Spargo and Sullivan, a lease and debt restructuring firm established in 1993 that was acquired by JLL in 2016. Prior to HMS, he was instrumental in the restructuring of the Cook Company, one of the largest commercial developers in Northern California at the time. He oversaw the turnaround of a 350-acre master planned development including office, industrial, retail, multi-family and residential land and buildings. Dave had to address numerous toxic and rezoning issues as well as implement unique marketing strategies to turnaround the project. Early in his career, Dave worked for CB Richard Ellis and in the management consulting practice at KPMG.
