JLL today announces that Kevin Howell has joined the Nashville office as executive vice president of property management. Howell brings more than 25 years of experience to JLL, and has overseen development and management for more than 11 million square feet of assets across Tennessee, Missouri, Ohio and Minnesota within the last fifteen years.

As executive vice president, Howell will lead JLL’s Nashville property management business line and two dozen team members. In this role, he will focus on growing JLL’s property management platform and will play an integral role in serving current and future clients in the market. Howell will lead property management efforts for some of the market’s most high-profile developers and investors, including a premier institutional investor that recently acquired a property outside of Brentwood, TN, and Propst Development, owner and developer of Broadwest, the 1.2-million-square-foot mixed-use community in Midtown Nashville.

Prior to joining JLL, Howell served as managing director of the Nashville office at Commonwealth Commercial Partners, where he was responsible for overseeing daily property operations, and long-term planning and growth in Nashville and multiple other markets.

“Having worked in property management and the commercial real estate sector for the last 25 years, I feel confident in my ability to deliver JLL’s standard-setting quality of service,” said Howell. “JLL’s platform and full-service capabilities are unmatched, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career.”

Since establishing a presence in 2010, JLL’s Nashville office has quickly grown to over 45 employees – a nod to the market’s rapid growth and expansion. JLL’s Nashville office now represents 11 business lines and concentrations, including retail and office tenant representation, office agency leasing, project and development services, industrial services, supply and logistics services, property management, integrated portfolio solutions, capital markets, multifamily and work dynamics.

“As we continue to grow the capabilities of the Nashville office through strategic hires, we are committed to investing in top talent that will deliver the excellent service that JLL is known for,” said JLL Managing Director Bo Tyler. “Kevin is a well-respected industry veteran, and we’re confident that he will play an impactful role in driving service excellence and relationships with our current and future clients.”

Between 2009 and 2020, Nashville added more than 10 million square feet of office space, split nearly evenly between the CBD and suburbs, according to JLL’s Why Nashville report. Additionally, direct asking rates rose sharply from 2014-2018, coinciding with the city’s most rapid period of population growth. According to JLL Nashville’s Q3 Office Insight, Nashville’s urban and suburban submarkets have a combined 1.85 million square feet currently under development, proving that developer appetite for the market remains strong.
