Commerz Real signs Brown Rudnick to full-floor lease in CBD
Law firm chose 1900 N Street for trophy quality and design efficiency
WASHINGTON, DC – July 30, 2024 - JLL announced it facilitated a full-floor lease for law firm Brown Rudnick at 1900 N Street, NW in downtown Washington, DC. The law firm selected the Commerz Real-owned Trophy building for its efficient layout, characterized by 30x40 column spacing, long linear and light-filled floor plates, and the property’s outstanding amenity package, including one of the most expansive rooftops in the city.
“Brown Rudnick’s commitment to 1900 N punctuates Commerz Real’s outstanding investment in one of the highest quality Trophy buildings in Washington, DC,” stated Evan Behr, Executive Managing Director, JLL. “This lease brings 1900 N Street to 92 percent leased and further highlights that top Trophy buildings in DC continue to outperform. Brown Rudnick is an outstanding tenant and Commerz Real is thrilled to welcome them to the building.”
1900 N Street is one of the most recognizable Trophy buildings in DC with its striking red truss structure piercing through the building’s curtainwall façade along N Street. Developed in 2019, the Trophy property features a three-story, column-free lobby that is as grand as it is luxurious and a 4,000 square foot windowed fitness center. Situated in the CBD on the south side of Dupont Circle, 1900 N Street is among some of the city’s best restaurants and retail. The building is home to Colada Shop, known for its colorful, casual atmosphere, Cuban food, coffee and cocktails, and Balos Estiatorio, recently recognized by the Michelin Guide for its Greek cuisine and lively atmosphere.
“We are very pleased to make this move to 1900 N,” said Jennifer Korff, Chief Operating Officer, Brown Rudnick. “This new space will not only enhance collaboration and help attract and retain top talent, but it will also create a welcoming environment that inspires excellence and ultimately better serves our clients. This space strengthens our commitment to downtown Washington, DC, and our commitment to fostering our enterprising culture, our people and our client service.”
Brown Rudnick will be joining an esteemed list of tenants including Goodwin Procter, Beveridge & Diamond and CBRE with 18,000 square feet of office space remaining available in the building.
JLL’s Evan Behr, Doug Mueller, Kristen Mathis and Thomas Myers represent 1900 N Street and Savill’s Gary Stein, David Goldstein, Jon Glass and Owen Jaccard represented Brown Rudnick.
