Tracy Bibbens
Senior Vice President, United States
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
I can emphatically say it is my mom, Peggy Samuel. Her diligent work ethic and perseverance was extremely encouraging to me and it pushed me to exert myself and do my best no matter what obstacles I face. As my role model and inspiration, she has instilled in me the values of faith, humility, hard work, empathy, and the importance of family. Those core values keep me motivated and passionate about all I do!
Why does inclusion matter to you?
We need to foster a culture that values authenticity. Each of us have diverse perspectives and experiences that, when giving the opportunity, can enable us to have a positive impact. Taking an interest in people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and nationalities can truly enrich our lives. Also, having an inclusive, impartial viewpoint can add variety to our everyday situations. When we include people and get to know them on a personal level, we can avoid being deceived by misleading stereotypes. We are doing a disservice to our clients and communities if we are not inclusive in our activities.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
My hope is that my genuine passion to help resonates with everyone I interact with. I truly enjoy being a mentor, coach, and friend for those I have come to know, and perhaps, serving as an example for some that I have not yet had the opportunity to meet. By my manner of teaching, I try to show it is okay to stand out as different, and I want all to know that they do not have to change themselves to blend in with the crowd. This is what I hope others imitate as we work hard, to not only achieve ambitions at JLL, but achieve the best life now and for our future.
