Eyes turn to Davos

Next week, political, cultural and business leaders from around the globe will gather in Davos for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

December 16, 2019

With so many political tensions and uncertainties dominating the headlines in early 2019, Davos provides a timely opportunity for leaders – especially politicians – to build fresh consensus for mutually beneficial and sustainable co-existence in this rapidly evolving digital age. The Forum’s theme for next week’s meeting sets the right tone – Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution – a little heavy on the jargon perhaps, but its heart is in the right place.

On the business front, JLL will again be playing its full part in Davos as a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum. Our 10-strong delegation will be our largest to date, each with a full schedule of C-suite meetings already in the calendar. Many business leaders will also be attending our popular annual JLL ‘Future of Work’ panel discussion. This time, our discussion will be presented in association with Harvard Business Review, and is themed around Reimagining Work in the Age of AI.

As usual, you can read updates and insights from our delegates throughout next week here on our Notes from Davos blog site. Joining me in this year’s JLL delegation will be Sheila Penrose, Chairman of our Board of Directors; Greg O’Brien, CEO Americas; Guy Grainger, CEO EMEA; Anthony Couse, CEO Asia Pacific; Richard Bloxam, CEO Global Capital Markets; John Forrest, CEO Global Corporate Solutions; Neil Murray, CEO EMEA Corporate Solutions; Vinay Goel, Chief Digital Product Officer; and Susheel Koul, MD, IFM Asia Pacific. We look forward to keeping you updated as the Davos week progresses.

Christian Ulbrich is JLL’s Global CEO.
