JLL helps Honeywell in the fight against COVID-19
PDS team provides support as Honeywell takes on the N95 mask shortage
Honeywell International, Inc., a Fortune 100 technology company, is currently tasked with a vitally important project: ramping up production of N95 masks for the U.S. government in response to COVID-19. Behind the scenes, JLL is playing a key role to help Honeywell meet that demand.
JLL's Project Management team is overseeing the transformation of 57,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Phoenix into space for making N95 masks. Honeywell has also accelerated N95 production at a site in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
The Phoenix project is being overseen by JLL Project and Development Services Team Lead, Michael Smith. Recent work has included production equipment connections, high-voltage electrical installation, floor-leveling, wall repairs, and the removal of HVAC duct work. With an accelerated timetable to create 20 million masks per month, the JLL project team is alternating shifts to work 12 hours a day, six days a week, to oversee the transformation.
"JLL is absolutely knocking it out of the park on this mask manufacturing 'sprint,'" shared Ken Karcher, Director of Aerospace Real Estate Strategy for Honeywell. "We’re grateful for the clear direction and attention to detail from Michael and the team as we work to provide critical protection to our frontline workers.”
