Mark Gibson is the Chief Executive Officer of JLL Capital Markets, Americas, where he leads the firm’s Capital Markets business across the region.
Mark is responsible for setting strategic direction, driving business growth and enhancing client engagement to deliver innovative capital markets solutions. He also sits on JLL’s Global Capital Markets Board, contributing to the firm’s global investment strategy and expansion efforts.
Prior to his current role, Mark was the CEO of HFF, Inc., which he led until its merger with JLL in 2019. Mark originally joined HFF’s predecessor firm, Holliday Fenoglio & Company, in 1984 and became a founding partner of HFF LP. Over the years, he was instrumental in multiple strategic transactions, including the firm’s sale to Amresco in 1994, its acquisition by Lend Lease in 1998, the management buyout in 2003, and its initial public offering in 2007.
Mark is involved with many industry, service and charitable organizations. He serves as an Executive Committee Member for the UT Real Estate Finance and Investment Center; an Advisory Council Member for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin; a Board Member for BL Next (Blue Light Capital’s non-profit), the Camden Property Trust, and ULI Foundation; an Advisory Board Member for the University of Texas’ Southwestern University Hospital, Weitzman and Crow Holdings; a Trustee and Member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a Member (formerly a Trustee) of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
He also previously served on the Baylor Health Care System Advisory Board and as an Executive Committee and Board Member of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE).
Mark earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981, and was inducted into the McCombs Hall of Fame in 2021.
